The UN Charter is the foundational treaty of the United Nations was signed at the conclusion of The United Nation Conference. It is a constituent treaty and all the members of this treaty are bound by it's articles.
It was drafted on 14 August 1941, and was signed on 26 June 1945 in San Francisco, California, United States. It came into force on 24 October 1945.
It has it's depositary at United States and has 193 parties in funcion.
Earlier, it was translated in 6 languages, namely Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian & Spanish. Now it has been translated in one more official language- Sanskrit.
The translation of UN Charter into Sanskrit language came following the pioneering efforts of Mr. Jitendra Kumar Tripathi, the secretary of the Akhila Bhartiya Sanskrit Parishad.
